Priorities

So my roommate and her boyfriend just asked me if there was a football game on tonight.

My response:
"Tonight? No I don't think so."

"Wait... DO YOU MEAN THE SUPER BOWL?"

JFo, I can't believe we actually talked about this situation last night and it's even more incredulous that it came to be.

I don't get it! What is incredulous? That we didn't know if a game was on, or that it was possible that the superbowl could be on and we wouldn't know/care? We get an A for apathy when it comes to sporting events. This is the word of the Jule.

John, it's just like a state school alum like you to say that.

I was merely taken aback by the audacity of someone not knowing if the Super Bowl was taking place or not. Asking if the Super Bowl was on last night is akin to asking what day the 4th of July falls on.

And like Independence Day and Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Sunday is the quintessential American holiday: paying homage to grandeur, excess and triumph all in the pursuit of perfect athletic prowess.
